The Survival Instinct of Inspiration

There are things which encourage us to recommence what we once stopped to do, to find what we once lost, to help us see when we used to be blind: These words are in line with I think it was the first stanza of "Amazing Grace", a song or poem I first heard via the voice of Ani DiFranco who sang her version of it which I believed to be the original until I heard otherwise. Of course, if you know Ani DiFranco you should know better than to assume she's just copy te vocals of the song.
Anyway, I love the way I just drifted from my topic because that's what I was aiming for. I am participating in a course which is meant to improve your writing skills. It has always freaked me out that I stopped writing and never found again the ribbon I dropped in the labyrinth which used to lead me through the hallways of words. Writing always gave me so much.
As far as luxury is concerned, why should we abstain from something we could very easily have?
