Instant birthday celebration (in a single sentence)

Wow yes let's celebrate the 50th birthday of the German Federal Armed Forces, aka Bundeswehr, let's ignore all protests and make sure all demonstrators stay far away from the scene in front of the Reichstag by fencing off a huge area around it so that their whistles can't drown the fascinating traditional march music, let the police use clubs against demonstrators who dare to noisily insist upon their right to move past the locked area, invite 4500 special guests, choose some special people to hold speeches full of praise and self-praise, let foreign guests come and emphasize the importance of the German army's work abroad, remember to mention the historical development, use lots of special effects like torches, rhythm and discipline in uniform and then yay! you've got the most perfect(-ly ridiculous) birthday party!

Wow, now I have seen everything: Parading uniformised Germans with torches - who would have thought that possible! Whoever came up with that idea must have an admirable imagination!

of course, morten, didn't you know germans are famous for their lively imagination?! ;)you can tell by the torches how extremely modernised our army is, after all, when we help out in poor countries people there shouldn't think we use modern technologies such as spotlights or anything.. they might get jealous, you know.. god how i hate these helmets, my theory is that they let out a certain odour which makes all soldiers wear the same facial expression, or anti-expression rather, if you know what i mean.

UPDATE: According to a tiny article on page 9 of today's newspaper, the Chief of Police has started preliminary proceedings against a police officer who is suspected to have used his club too roughly against a demonstrator. That police officer has now been moved to another department.. wow what a move!
