The multiple meanings of brightness

Unfortunately lately I belong to those people who don't have time to watch television, or not a lot anyway, but one look into the tv programme from time to time is enough to convince me that I should share this brilliant phrase with you which I read somewhere: "I wish there was a knob on the TV to turn up the intelligence. There's a knob called 'brightness', but it doesn't work."
I know some people choose to lead their lives according to the tv programme, apparently life's easier organised like this =)
Luckily we can count on the sun always to be bright..
By the way, hello world, I'm glad you made it into this year. I made it, yay! Welcome in 2006!

If you don't understand my silence you won't understand my words. I have a profound adoration for coconuts. My favourite drinks are red wine and milk. If heaven is filled with the kind of people you find in churches I don't think heaven's the place for me. I love films by Wong Kar-Wai and Tim Burton and the art of Salvador Dalì. People call them surrealists but to me their works show reality the way I see it. I believe in love at first sight, as I believe in friendship at first sight. The basis of optimism is sheer terror- that's why I am a devoted optimist. In my room there are two big maps of the world on my walls and a globe to remind me to see things from a relative perspective. I am just as materialistic as everyone else but really I hate depending on pleasures. When I was little I wanted to be an astronaut. Somehow I still do. As a child I could never fall asleep very well. Hasn't changed much. My birthday's on 6th of May. Secretly I'm always looking for someone with the same date of birth. I like swearing in English. I probably have a serious lack of discipline. It's 3 in the morning while I'm writing this and I don't feel like going to bed at all anymore tonight. I believe the reason why we are so attracted by candles is that each of us hopes to find our missing flame in the fire. I love looking at the stars. I believe plants have what people would call souls. I love surfing because I can feel the wind controlling the sail and if I don't pay attention to the slightest change then nature will always be stronger than me. It's true that you regret things you didn't do more than things you did do. I wonder why the heart and the brain contradict each other that often. I can't cope with being ignored. But that doesn't make me an attention seeker. I think patriotism is an illusion and there's no such thing as a national identity. I don't believe in borders. I don't understand how their life-style can change people and make them forget how to laugh. The only reason the Mona Lisa really is a good picture is because nobody understands her. I don't like phoning, there are only very few people I feel comfortable with on the phone. I hate using bookmarks but I can never remember the page..written some years ago.
